Suspense

There are various factors that create suspense in a thriller. The themes of suspense contain victims, darkness, pauses, tense music, heavy breathing and visceral effect. A pause in a suspense links well with creating tension as the viewer is intriged to find whats yet to come. The theme of darkness can create a sense of fear, unknown and danger in a scense. Heavey breathing in a scene which is produced by a character can display either fear, ergency, tiredness and adrenaline from a victims point of view, whereas from the villians point of view it can display a sinister essence, eagereness to harm and danger. However the visceral effect creates  physical movement from the audience, this in turn causes an increased heartbeat which is formed from fear and tension.
